Accreditations for our commitment to all aspects of health and safety and employee care and well being are extremely important to us. We embed quality, health and safety, and environmental best practice systems into our core activities, as evidenced by the extensive external accreditations which we are very proud to have achieved.
Introducing the Living Wage is not only the right thing to do for our valued employees but it is also good business sense.
This is a long-term investment in our people based on our values and our belief that a team with good compensation and working conditions is in a position to provide a great service for our clients.
In July 2017, our Director, John Langley completed the prestigious entrepreneurial programme run by global investment bank Goldman Sachs, called the 10,000 Small Business Programme.
JML Contracts was chosen as one of 60 businesses, UK wide out of 300 applicants to take part in the UK-wide programme and benefit from high quality, practically focussed business and management education through a series of residential workshops and webinars. The curriculum has been designed specifically to offer smaller, scalable businesses access to world class international and national experts to learn more about entrepreneurialism. The programme aims to enable small UK business owners to grow their organisations, expand their market potential and create local job opportunities.
The programme gives participants an opportunity to meet and work with a wide range of business owners from across the country and to join the National Alumni network of those who have undertaken the programme in the past.
JML Contracts became a member of The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) in 2016. The FSB are experts in business and offer their members a wide range of vital business services including a legal protection scheme, financial expertise, digital advertising services and a powerful voice in government. Their mission is to help smaller businesses achieve their ambitions.
JML became a member of Timber Development UK (formerly TRADA) in 2017. Being TDUK members gives JML access to a wealth of technical information and know-how that allows us to help you even more.
TDUK is recognised internationally as a centre of excellence on the specification and use of timber and wood products. They research the best ways to work with and treat timber, as well as working to best exploit its properties.
If you have a particularly unique question or project that is outside the experience of our own timber experts, TDUK are the people we will confer with. This puts JML in an even stronger position when it comes to helping our customers.
STA Assure is a scheme by the Structural Timber Association (STA) of which we are members that defines levels of accreditation to provide customer assurance.
The STA Assure membership and quality standards scheme is designed to benefit both customers and members alike, promoting the differing specialisms, accreditations and quality standards held by STA members. As such, we just wanted to provide you with some more information about what this scheme means for us and you.
The STA has established three levels of membership accreditation within this scheme; Gold, Silver and Bronze. The relevant accreditation highlights the differing levels of in-house quality procedures, management systems and product performance as well as external accreditations held by STA members, offering clients complete transparency.
We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded with STA Assure Level Gold which enables us to further demonstrate our high quality standards to the market and provide complete reassurance for our clients.
In June 2017, JML Contracts was awarded a number of international accreditations ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS ISO 45001 which demonstrate its commitment to the quality, health and safety and environmental management.
The ISO 9001 accreditation is recognised worldwide as the International benchmark for quality within an organisation. JML Contracts was able to demonstrate dedication and commitment to meeting customer needs; operating efficient management processes; and delivering consistent, good quality products and services to achieve this.
The ISO 14001 accreditation was achieved due to a systematic approach to environmental management and dedication to sustainable development – as a business JML Contracts is committed to reducing the environmental impact on a daily basis.
And finally, the business was awarded the OHSAS ISO 45001 recognising the efficient and effective Health and Safety processes it has in place, identifying, controlling and managing risks to ensure the highest level of safety employees and visitors to its premises.
We are delighted to have been awarded Citation Health & Safety Management accreditation, confirming our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of health and safety.
