After a long career managing a flagship hair salon, our client decided to set up her own business within her garden. She approached JML Garden Rooms with a brief to develop a luxurious salon offering space, comfort and privacy for both stylist and clients.
Whilst the JML Garden Room represented a significant investment for the client’s newly established business, the model offers a better return than the alternative of renting a single chair in an existing salon. Significantly, it also offers flexible future uses for the family whilst simultaneously adding value to the client’s property.
The client chose to work with JML Garden Rooms as she was keen to use a local supplier and was referred by a friend.
Initially, the client was concerned that the 22 sqm area of this bespoke Lowlander design would be too small for her requirements. In addition to two styling stations, the space needed to include a backwash sink for hair washing, a WC and a small kitchenette in order to provide refreshments.
As the business opened during the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and air quality were primary concerns, and the client was keen to reassure her customers that the salon would be a private, safe space to visit.
Once work commenced on site, the project progressed at pace and the client was amazed by the speed at which the SIPs kit was erected. As the Garden Room was being constructed at the family’s home, it was crucial that the team treated the garden with respect and that the site was kept clean, tidy and safe at all times. The client was particularly delighted when she returned from a long weekend away to see the cedar cladding and full installation complete.
“I couldn’t be happier with my garden salon and my clients love it too! The whole JML team were great to deal with and kept me well informed throughout the entire process. The guys onsite were very considerate of my garden and left it tidy each evening. It has given me a very tranquil space to work from.”
